Our Story

Dana Point Animal Hospital

A Dana Point Staple

Originally founded in 1989 as Golden Lantern Animal Hospital, our Dana Point veterinary clinic has had the pleasure of becoming an integral part of this great community. Our veterinarians have seen your pets, children and families grow and evolve over the years and we are honored that you have trusted us to care for your pets throughout that time.

Our Roots

That's just it. Our roots are you, Dana Point. Because of this, being part of this community is important to us and providing exceptional veterinary medicine to your pet family is our highest goal. We want to be your community veterinarian. The one you continue to trust with your pet's health and longevity throughout their lives.

That's why beginning in October 2021, we've updated our name from Golden Lantern Animal Hospital to Dana Point Animal Hospital.

Leadership

Thanks to you, Golden Lantern Animal Hospital experienced immense growth over the past few years. Dr. Jennifer Pursley and Dr. Jenna Pizzo, along with the rest of our amazing staff have dedicated themselves to caring for your pets as if they were their own. In fact, you voted us into the silver medal spot in the 2020 Best Vet in Dana Point competition through the Dana Point Times! It's because of you that we were able to welcome new leadership at our hospital and bring our community vision to life!

Along with our new name (Dana Point Animal Hospital), we are thrilled to announce that we welcomed Dr. Jill Granite to our team as Medical Director in May 2021. Dr. Granite brings many years of experience, both as a dedicated veterinarian and as a leader. We know that you (and your pets) will find her as warm and wonderful as we do!

Dr. Jill Granite, Medical Director

An East Coast native, Dr. Granite moved to California to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian and graduated from Western University of Health Science, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She has since practiced across the country before deciding to call California home several years ago.

As a veterinarian, her focus is on creating lasting relationships with her clients and their pets and believes that open communication is key in the long-term health of your pet. Dr. Granite has a strong interest in preventative medicine, internal medicine and ultrasonography and looks forward to building this part of the Golden Lantern Animal Hospital practice.

Dr. Granite places immense pride in being part of the community in which she lives and works. She, her husband and their 4 children reside in San Clemente along with their Golden Retriever, Gator, and cat, Snoop.

We count ourselves incredibly lucky to have Dr. Jill Granite join us at Dana Point Animal Hospital! Contact our office to schedule an appointment today!
